Flowers in the Wall: Truth and Reconciliation in East Timor, Indonesia, and Melanesia (UCalgary Press) is the result of a collaborative project comparing the experience of truth and reconciliation commissions in these nations, with a focus on the pre- and post-truth commission phases. Truth and reconciliation commissions are a valuable tool in conflict resolution, but they often lack follow-up mechanisms to implement their recommendations. Join us for a discussion on these topics, particularly the role of activists and civil society organizations throughout the truth and reconciliation process.

Speaker: David Webster, Associate Professor of History, Bishop's University

This event is being hosted by University of Calgary Press.
